About NSSA
The National Social Science Association is a scholarly organization devoted to furthering education, research, and learning in the social science disciplines. NSSA was founded nearly 50 years ago by a group of passionate community college faculty devoted to bringing together professionals in their field for the advancement of social science education.
Originally NSSA was know as the Community College Social Science Association. However, over the years the organization grew, and more 4-year faculty joined the organization. With the need for a more apt title, the organization was renamed to the National Social Science Association.
NSSA hosts two annual conferences: The Fall Conference and the Spring Conference. These conferences serve as a way for professionals to network and connect over the shared passion for the social sciences.
Additionally, NSSA hosts various retreats and seminars throughout the year. These are designed to help foster a community of academics which shares research, teaching, and technology.
Furthermore, NSSA has two journal publications, the National Social Science Journal and the National Social Science Technology Journal. The National Social Science Journal is published quarterly, and the National Social Science Technology Journal is published annually.
